What You Will Learn

  • How to create a new chatbot in Botvee
  • How to configure bot instructions and personality
  • How to set the correct domain for your bot
  • How to enable communication triggers like human handoff and issue reporting
  • What core features and Pro features are available

Step 1: Open the Create Bot Window

Log in to the Botvee dashboard and click Create Bot. This will open the Create New Bot form where you can configure your chatbot.

Step 2: Enter the Bot Name

In the Bot Name field, enter a name for your chatbot such as "Customer Support Bot" or "Sales Assistant." This name helps you identify the bot inside your dashboard.

Step 3: Define the Bot Instructions (System Prompt)

The System Prompt defines how your chatbot behaves — its personality, role, and the type of responses it should give. Example: You are a friendly and professional customer support assistant. Help users with their questions about our products and services.

Step 4: Add Your Website Domain

In the Domain field, enter the full URL of the website where the chatbot will be used (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com).

Step 5: Set the Bot Status

The Initial Status determines whether the chatbot is active. Keep the bot Active for most cases.

Step 6: Assign a Knowledge Base (Optional)

You can connect a knowledge base during bot creation using documents (PDF, DOC) or websites. You can also add training data later.

Step 7: Configure Communication Triggers

  • Issue Reporting — Users can report problems directly through the chatbot
  • Human Handoff — Users can request help from a real human agent
  • User Feedback — Users can leave feedback about their chatbot experience

Step 8: Pro Features

  • Remove Botvee Branding — Fully white-labeled experience
  • Operating Hours — Control when the chatbot is active
  • Lead Generation — Automatically collect visitor name, email, and phone number

Step 9: Core Features

  • Auto-save Conversations — All conversations are saved automatically
  • Enable Analytics — Track conversations, engagement, and usage trends

Troubleshooting

Bot is created but not responding correctly — Add more training data. Domain not accepted — Make sure you enter the full URL starting with https://. Pro features are locked — Upgrade your Botvee plan to access premium features.
