How to Train a Bot Using Website Data

When creating a new chatbot, after entering your bot name, instructions, and website domain, Botvee will ask if you want to train the bot on your website. Click Yes, Train Bot to begin. The system will automatically start scanning your website in the background.

Step 1: Go to the Knowledge Base section in the Botvee dashboard.

Step 2: Click the Add Website button and enter the full URL of your website (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com).

Step 3: Botvee will scan the website and extract useful information such as page titles, headings, paragraphs, FAQs, and product or service descriptions.

Step 4: After crawling is complete, the extracted content will appear inside the Knowledge Base documents list for you to review.

Step 5: Test your chatbot by asking questions like "What services do you provide?" or "How can I contact support?"

Bot did not learn the website content — Make sure the website URL is correct and publicly accessible. Some pages are missing from the training data — Add those pages manually through the Knowledge Base. Website crawling takes too long — Large websites may take more time to process.
