Account Security

Your account holds your customers’ chats, so keep it locked down. Everything below is at Dashboard → Settings → Security. Set up two-factor sign-in on day one, and especially before you invite a team member.

Before you start

• Your phone — With an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator
• A safe place for recovery codes — A password manager or a printed copy

How to turn on two-factor sign-in

Two-factor sign-in asks for a 6-digit code from an app on your phone, as well as your password. Someone who steals your password still cannot get in.

   Open Dashboard → Settings

   Then click the Security tab

   Find Two-factor authentication

   And start setup

   Scan the QR code

   With an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator

   Enter the 6-digit code

   Two-factor is now on

   Save your recovery codes

   They are shown only once. Use one if you lose your phone

Other protection

• Passkeys — Sign in with your fingerprint, face or a security key instead of a password
• Recent sign-in devices — See where your account is signed in
• Password — Change it on the same tab
• Sign in again — Botvee asks for it before buying add-ons or cancelling your plan

Your data

Under Data rights you can:

• Export or erase one customer — Look them up by email, phone number or visitor ID, then “Export a copy” or “Erase permanently”
• Download your whole workspace — “Download my data” (account owner only)

Good to know

• Erasing a customer cannot be undone
• Security alerts for sign-ins from a new device are always sent
